At Plato, we love a great celebration and are lucky enough to play a part in many fantastic events. There is, however, one celebration that we strive to be a part of each year, and that’s the Hire Awards of Excellence.
Today, we’re going to be talking about our experience as a Hire Awards of Excellence repeat finalist, the importance of being SafeHire© certified, and why you should be looking for the award certification next time you need event hire equipment.
What are The Hire Awards of Excellence?
To us, The Hire Awards of Excellence is comparable to The Oscars for the plant, tool and event equipment hire industries. Highly sought-after and
independently judged, the Hire Awards of Excellence represents the best in the industry. Organised by Hire Association Europe and Event Hire Association (HAE EHA), the awards highlight and celebrate the fantastic achievements of hire and supply companies within the UK hire sector.
Special recognition is also given to individuals that have consistently stood out from the crowd, have achieved huge things and set some of the highest possible standards within their industry.
The Hire Awards of Excellence takes place annually, with a unique sponsor for each industry. A panel of carefully selected judges critique all finalists and announce the winners at the awards evening at Grosvenor House, London.
What is SafeHire© and why is it Important?
For many years, the event hire industry has been seeking a certification or symbol to represent the businesses in this industry that truly care about the quality and outcome of their services. As a currently un-mandatory certification, we strongly believe that all companies in the event and furniture hire industry should be SafeHire© certified.
The SafeHire© certification is a result of numerous successful achievements including the following:
- They have proved competence in all areas of safety, health, environment and levels of quality.
- They have met and exceeded demands for high standards of service.
- They have demonstrated a well-trained workforce to support customers.
- They have achieved increased revenue generation.
In order to receive the certification, the company are required to complete several on-site and online assessments. They also need to achieve successful annual SafeHire© site audits and a three-yearly desktop audit to remain certified. This means that companies must continue working at this level or above, in order to keep the qualification.
Why You Should Look for The Logo
By choosing an event hire supplier that is SafeHire© certified, you can rest assured that you’ll receive exceptional quality service in all areas, from communications, reliability, and customer service to the quality and cleanliness of the equipment you hire. The certification shows that you are committed, dedicated, and have proven that you deliver only the highest standards.
SafeHire certified companies should show a clickable logo on their website – like we do! If it’s not clickable and showing their certification and SafeHire number double check authenticity. If in doubt call the Hire Association Europe (HAE) and Event Hire Association (EHA) before getting a quote. Their number is 0121 380 4600.
Our Achievements
Plato has been 1 of 3 companies nationally nominated for the SafeHire© Event Equipment Hire Company of the Year awards since 2016 and the only Midlands based catering equipment hire company to have been nominated in the last 5 years.
We have been awarded finalists for our category in 2016, 2019 and 2020, and crowned winners in both 2017 and 2021. We are incredibly proud of our achievements, our growth and our team, and work hard to ensure that we attend the Hire Awards of Excellence ceremony as finalists each year going forward. Entries for 2022 are now open, and the awards evening is due to take place of Saturday 7th May 2022.
