When you’re hiring for an event, you’ll no doubt have a big list of the items you need to hire to make it a real success. You’ll also no doubt have a budget and a preferred list of suppliers. All that needs to fit into place.
Plato Hire has been providing superb quality catering equipment and furniture hire services throughout Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and the West Midlands for over 20 years, so it’s fair to say we know a thing or two about maintaining exceptional standards.
We’re very proud to be repeat finalists and winners of The Hire Awards of Excellence for SafeHire Event Equipment Hire Company of the Year, but what is SafeHire and why is it so important?

What does being SafeHire certified mean?
Being SafeHire certified means you’ve successfully proven that your business delivers high standards of service and have been acknowledged for your consistent efforts.
The certification shows that you are committed, dedicated, and have a high level of expertise in your industry, all of which will help you to stand out against other businesses in your area.
How does SafeHire benefit you as a supplier or customer?
There are many reasons why you should look for the SafeHire logo next time you’re looking for a catering equipment hire. Organising an event is difficult enough, so being able to put trust in your hire company is critical. Nobody wants to sit on wonky chairs, eat from creaking tables or drink from unsanitary glassware. Customers deserve so much more than that.
For many, the certification offers peace of mind that the hire company will be trustworthy, knowledgeable, and reliable - and that the items will be clean, tested, and of a high-quality standard. Whether you’re hosting an awards evening, an event, a celebration, or a wedding, we can provide you with everything you need for a smooth and successful event.

Ask your supplier if they’re SafeHire certified
This could be a part of your process or something you do in the research or selection phase. This safeguards you against a company hiring out items that have not been checked and tested before every single hire. It also looks better on you and your service as you’re less likely to have any problems with a hire company with SafeHire certification.
A really simple way to check:
- Look for the SafeHire logo or ask your supplier if they are SafeHire certified.
- Ask for their SafeHire number. Ours is 01142.
- The SafeHire logo should always be clickable and take you to an HAE EHA confirmation page. If not, they may not be certified.
- Call the Hire Association Europe (HAE) and Event Hire Association (EHA) before getting a quote.
- The number is 0121 380 4600.
- Certification from SafeHire demonstrates compliance with the health, safety, and well-being of its workforce and the users of hired equipment.
- It’s a great indication of a good level of compliance and quality.
When hiring equipment from Plato, you can be safe in the knowledge that any electrical equipment is carefully PAT tested before it’s hired out. Plato is also a member of the SafeHire Certification Scheme, which means we have a proven competence in safety, health, environment, and quality.
