The Importance of Being SafeHire Certified

The Importance of Being Safehire certified

For over 20 years Plato Hire has been providing superb quality catering equipment and furniture hire services throughout Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and the West Midlands, so it’s fair to say we know a thing or two about providing exceptional quality.

As proud repeat finalists and winners of The Hire Awards of Excellence for SafeHire© Event Equipment Hire Company of the Year, being SafeHire© certified is something we’re incredibly passionate about.

But why is it so important to be SafeHire© certified, and why do we strongly believe all event hire companies should hold this certification?

What is SafeHire©?

Businesses that have gained the SafeHire© certification have achieved a successful quality assessment, and proven that they can effectively carry out the following within the workplace -

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Health, Safety and Welfare
  • Occupational Health
  • Environment and Sustainability
  • Quality Business Risk
  • Insurance and Financial Control
  • Document Control, Data Protection, HR and Employment law compliance

All SafeHire© assessors are also trained to review documents on-site and test the accuracy of –

  • Key Process Paperwork
  • Hire Contracts
  • Training Records
  • Customer Service Management Systems
  • Employee Knowledge (through interviewing employees)
  • Inspection and Testing ‘Ready to Hire’ Equipment.

The SafeHire© certification scheme was launched in the year 2000 and has been developed year on year with the guidance of safety and quality agencies such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and was endorsed in 2010 by the British Standards Institute (BSi), as a Private Standard.

The SafeHire© certification is valid for three years and includes annual on-site assessments to ensure that standards of service remain at the highest-level year on year.

What does Being SafeHire© Certified Mean?

Being SafeHire© certified means you’ve successfully proven that your business delivers high standards of service and have been acknowledged for your consistent efforts.

The certification shows that you are committed, dedicated and have a high level of expertise in your industry, all of which will help you to stand out against other businesses in your area.

How Does SafeHire© Benefit You as A Supplier or Customer?

There are many reasons why you should look for the SafeHire© logo next time you’re looking for a catering equipment hire. Organising an event is difficult enough, so being able to put trust in your hire company is critical. Nobody wants to sit on wonky chairs, eat from creaking tables or drink from unsanitary glassware. Customers deserve so much more than that.

For many, the certification offers peace of mind that the hire company will be trustworthy, knowledgeable, and reliable - and that the items will be clean, tested, and of a high-quality standard. Whether you’re hosting an awards evening, an event, a celebration, or a wedding, we can provide you with everything you need for a smooth and successful event.

How To Check A Company Is SafeHire© Certified Before Hiring Any Equipment

  • Look for the SafeHire logo or ask your supplier if they are SafeHire certified.  Ask for their SafeHire number.  Ours is 01142.
  • Call the Hire Association Europe (HAE) and Event Hire Association (EHA) before getting a quote. Their number is 0121 380 4600.

The SafeHire logo should always be clickable and take you to an HAE EHA confirmation page.  If not they may not be certified
