It’s looking increasingly likely that Christmas 2020 is going to be different for all of us. Whether you live in Warwickshire or not, local or national restrictions will force most of us to reduce the number of people we entertain.
This doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of a smaller Christmas (that is, assuming you had a larger celebration planned). As always, it comes down to planning, preparation, and thinking about all the small details.
Let’s start with a list of everything you’ll need to make your smaller Christmas as stress-free as it should be!
The big stuff
No matter how many people you’re catering for, you’ll want to ensure there’s plenty of food. Leftovers, as we all know, are one of the best things about Christmas. That’s right – you need enough turkey for the sandwiches, curries, and soup you’ll probably be eating until the New Year! But if your turkey won’t fit in your oven, you'll be in for a bumpy ride.
That's why we can hire out ovens, such as this 6 ring burner and oven, fit for the task - a real lifesaver if yours simply isn’t big enough. But we can go one step further with fridge hire (how many times have you tried to cram as much into your as possible at Christmas?) and even hot cupboards.
Christmas often calls on serious cooking equipment to get the job done, regardless of how many people you’re having over. If you’re worried your kit isn’t up to it, hire from us, instead! View our full range of catering equipment hire.
Say “goodbye” to emergency chairs
It might be a running joke, but the need to bring in “emergency chairs” every Christmas isn’t much fun - particularly for the person who has to straddle that old piano stool.
The good news? You can just hire the perfectly sized table and number of chairs from Plato. So, that’s another weight off your mind! Check out our range of furniture hire.
The little things
It’s easy to forget all of the little things you need at Christmas.
Remember when you realised you didn’t have a gravy boat? Or when you ran out of glasses, or realised your wine glasses have all broken since last time you needed them and you only have some mis-matched gin glasses left?
No matter how big or small your Christmas is, you’ll get through a shed load of small cutlery. But you’ll also need those kitchen items which simply aren’t used or required for the rest of the year.
Buying this stuff gets expensive, so why not hire it, instead? We've got a whole range of equipment available to hire, take a look using the links below...

Food and drink
This is where most of your guests’ attention will be focused, so it’s important to get the food and drink right at Christmas.
The golden rule? Buy what feels like too much!
That doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune this Christmas; you simply need to over-plan for what people might eat and drink.
Make sure you take into consideration guests who have intolerances, too (common ones are gluten, dairy, or wheat). The same goes for any any vegetarians or vegans you’re having over - make sure you cater for them, as well.
When it comes to drinks, Christmas is an excuse to get the obvious beverages in. Buck's Fizz, Baileys, and mulled wine are the obvious examples. But, if you fancy it, you can go fancy too, by ordering in the ingredients for cocktails and mocktails. (We can help with the kit you’ll need there, too!)
However many you’re hosting this Christmas, we hope we’ve given you the inspiration you need. And to make it even easier for you, we can deliver and collect everything you require.
But what about the washing up? We can help there, too! The Plato team will ensure you don’t end up slaving over your sink on the big day by cleaning everything for you. Finally, you can say “goodbye” to festive washing up!
We can deliver equipment for your small Christmas celebration throughout Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and The Cotswolds. Just get in touch with the Plato team to find out how we can help make your 2020 Christmas as special as you deserve it to be.
